Da Costa returns to JOTA
António Félix da Costa needs no introduction in endurance racing: he previously raced with JOTA during one of the team’s most successful periods, winning in both prototype and GT classes. The Portuguese driver is a WEC champion and a class winner at the Le Mans 24 Hours. Da Costa said returning to JOTA is special for him, describing it as “coming home”, and that he is back with one goal: helping the team fight for wins and titles.
Ricky Taylor: 32 IMSA wins of experience
Cadillac Racing driver Ricky Taylor knows the team well, having raced with it at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin this year while Alex Lynn recovered from surgery. Taylor is one of the biggest names in the IMSA SportsCar Championship, with 32 wins and 76 podiums. He said a full-time FIA world championship seat is an opportunity he has never had before, and that he already feels at home in the team.
What the team and Cadillac said
Sam Hignett, Team Principal and co-founder of Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, said the team is very excited about the 2027 line-up, noting that da Costa and Taylor know the team well and combine experience with team spirit, giving the new line-up “experience, speed and team spirit” to achieve big results. Eric Warren, GM’s Vice President of Global Motorsports Competition, welcomed the new drivers, saying teamwork and harmony are critical in this championship and that da Costa’s and Taylor’s long relationships with Cadillac provide a strong foundation for next season.
Farewell to Lynn and Bourdais
Sébastien Bourdais has been a key part of the Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA programme since its start, taking several podiums with the team over two seasons. Alex Lynn joined before the team’s first season in its current form and took four WEC pole positions with Cadillac, including pole at Le Mans; he was part of the crew for the brand’s first overall Le Mans podium and Cadillac’s first WEC win in São Paulo, as well as two Sebring 12 Hours victories. David Clarke, Team Principal and co-founder, thanked both drivers for their commitment on and off track, while the pair said they are focused on finishing the remaining two rounds as strongly as possible.
Cadillac enters the 2027 WEC season with a line-up combining European and American experience, starting and ending its campaign in the Gulf, building on its previous V-Series.R outings in Bahrain in 2023 and the opening Qatar 1812 km race in 2024.
