LEPAS L8 Set to Land in the Middle East, Reshaping Urban Parking with Elegant Intelligent Parking Technology

Recently, LEPAS, Chery Group’s new premium NEV brand for global markets, announced that its flagship model, the LEPAS L8, will soon enter multiple Middle Eastern markets, bringing local discerning urban consumers an NEV mobility experience defined by the brand promise: “Elegance, All the Way.”

Positioned as an elegant and premium five-seat SUV, the LEPAS L8 is built on the Intelligent LEX Platform and redefines mobility through refined advanced technologies. Powered by the LEPAS Super Hybrid System, it delivers an ideal balance of strong performance and extended range, helping eliminate range anxiety. A professionally tuned chassis combined with ENC active noise cancellation ensures a quiet and comfortable ride, even in congested urban traffic. The vehicle also features a high-rigidity body structure, all-scenario L2 intelligent driving assistance, and smartphone-based remote connectivity, offering both safety and convenience. Among its standout technologies, the intelligent parking system brings this premium mobility experience to life with every effortless arrival.

The LEPAS L8 comes equipped with a comprehensive parking assistance solution featuring two core functions: APA (Automatic Parking Assist) and RPA (Remote Parking Assist). Together with a 540° Panoramic Transparent Imaging system, these functions leverage the vehicle’s L2 intelligent driving hardware platform to deliver smooth and reliable parking assistance. When APA is activated, the system can identify parallel, perpendicular, and angled parking spaces, while assisting with steering, acceleration, deceleration, and braking. It can also assist drivers when maneuvering into extremely narrow spaces or dimly lit underground garages. RPA supports remote vehicle control via smartphone or physical key, eliminating the need to repeatedly get in and out of the vehicle in tight spaces. During hot weather or rainy conditions, drivers can stay comfortably inside the line of sight while remotely parking the car. The 540°Panoramic Transparent Imaging system provides comprehensive visibility around the vehicle and beneath the chassis, eliminating blind spots. Additional features such as Reverse Track Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert further reduce parking-related stress. At any point during operation, drivers can intervene, take control, or terminate the parking assistance functions.

These parking assistance features directly address key mobility challenges commonly faced across the Middle East, including prolonged exposure to extreme heat and the difficulty of finding parking spaces in large commercial complexes. Luxury shopping malls and hotels in the region often feature expansive underground parking structures with multiple levels and complex layouts, making parking time-consuming during peak hours. Coupled with blistering outdoor surface temperatures, long waits outdoors or repeated vehicle repositioning greatly undermine travel comfort. With RPA activated, drivers can simply align the vehicle with the parking spot, alight comfortably, and then use their smartphone or physical key from a shaded spot nearby to remotely guide the vehicle straight or park it into the tight bay. This eliminates the hassle of squeezing through narrow door gaps under the scorching sun, ensuring an effortless and elegant arrival experience from start to finish.

Building on its mature intelligent parking ecosystem, LEPAS will continue advancing its intelligent driving technologies. Later this year, the brand plans to launch an upgraded Super Intelligent Valet Parking (SIVP) system. Leveraging digital garage space perception and navigation technologies and optimized multi-sensor fusion, the system delivers full-scenario autonomous parking exclusively within confined parking environments and greatly boosts environmental perception performance, precisely meeting the real travel demands of Middle Eastern drivers.

During sweltering summers, drivers can remotely summon their vehicles via mobile app; the car will back out automatically and drive to shaded pick-up zones including hotel entrances, building lobbies and covered drop-off areas. Upon arriving at a destination, drivers can step out at the parking facility entrance, and the vehicle will independently detect empty parking bays, generate driving routes and complete automatic parking. During holiday rushes with heavy traffic and limited parking spots, the vehicle can cruise autonomously to search for vacant parking spaces, saving drivers from circling crowded lots. In historic blocks and high-end residential communities with ultra-narrow parking gaps, drivers may alight in advance, and the vehicle will finish difficult parking maneuvers automatically, avoiding the hassle of squeezing through narrow door gaps. Per the rollout roadmap, LEPAS L8 models fitted with this advanced intelligent parking system will debut first in Middle Eastern markets including the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

From the existing APA and RPA functions to the upcoming SIVP system, LEPAS keeps upgrading intelligent mobility technologies and consolidates its positioning as the Preferred Brand for Elegant Mobility Lifestyle. Looking ahead, LEPAS will further expand its footprint in the Middle East, will center all innovation on user demands, and deliver elegant experiences for every journey.

For Kuwait, Al Babtain Group’s preparations to introduce LEPAS reflect its ongoing commitment to bringing forward new automotive brands and technologies that meet the evolving expectations of customers in the local market.
