Monterey (United States), August 13, 2026: Ferrari today unveils the “Ferrari CZ26,” a one-of-a-kind (One-Off) car launched as part of the “Special Projects” program. Designed by the Ferrari Design Studio under the supervision of Flavio Manzoni, it was developed specifically for an American client. The car embodies a personal vision of the “Berlinetta” supercar concept, reinterpreted through a design language that combines simplicity, technology, and a forward-looking vision.

 

The car builds on the dynamic characteristics and exceptional performance of the “SF90 Stradale,” while maintaining the technical specifications and essence of a top-of-the-class ultra-high-performance supercar. The goal of the project is to create a car with a distinctive character that is instantly recognizable, capable of embodying power, precision, and formal purity through a meticulous design that reflects a strong identity.

 

The design of the “Ferrari CZ26” is characterized by a distinctly horizontal silhouette, with a unique side profile consisting of two distinct sections (a “two-box” design). The car exudes a solid and commanding presence on the road thanks to a structure centered around a pure, capsule-like central block, supported by four muscular-looking elements at the wheel arches. The car’s overall silhouette flows from the front end, as if its body were a single, continuous element that ends naturally at a cleanly sculpted, tapered rear end, precisely framed by lines that echo the front’s design.

 

The front fascia is dominated by a functional air intake that spans the full width of the car, featuring special lighting units with an ultra-slim design that gives them a discreet appearance, along with brake cooling vents, sensors, and technical components. The distinctive shape of the front end—highlighted by an unprecedented vertical front lip—gives the car a bold and confident presence. The rear features a tapered tail and prominent (suspended) taillights, elements that give the “Ferrari CZ26” a light and sculpted appearance. The rear diffuser also features a prominent horizontal design that helps enhance the car’s visual stance, reinforcing a sense of stability and balance.

 

The overall design of the body is based on an aesthetic characterized by purity and extreme precision, with functional elements emerging directly from the main surface of the car’s body. The side air intakes for cooling, the front, the rear diffuser, the prominent lighting units, and the carbon fiber elements that visually extend from the wheel arches are all part of a unified design language that combines function with aesthetic expression. This approach draws inspiration from the most iconic examples of Italian industrial design from the 1970s, reinterpreting their principles from a contemporary perspective.

 

The cabin blends seamlessly with the vehicle’s body thanks to the use of black trim on the roof and pillars, creating the impression of a cockpit integrated into the body. This design enhances the sleek lines and light visual character of the overall design.

 

Special attention was also given to the selection of colors and finishes, which were developed with a forward-looking vision in mind; the chosen materials and color tones reflect the car’s identity, combining a technical and sporty character on the one hand, and sophistication and a forward-looking outlook on the other. The exterior features an exclusive paint finish called “Argento Veloci,” a silver shade with a liquid-like appearance that highlights the richness of the surfaces and the precision of the lines. “Rosso Lampante” accents create a striking contrast with the car’s functional and technical elements, helping to emphasize its dynamic character, while the painted carbon fiber elements highlight the intricate details of the body.

 

The wheels, designed specifically for the Ferrari CZ26, combine a glossy black paint finish with a microbead-blasted surface treatment to achieve a polished look. The design is complemented by titanium exhaust tips with a natural finish, clearly reflecting the car’s technical character and high performance.

 

The overall character of the exterior design is clearly reflected in the cabin, where black technical fabrics—custom-designed for the vehicle—take center stage and complement the seat cushions produced using additive manufacturing (3D printing) technology, featuring a design unique to the CZ26 model. “Rosso Lampante” accents echo the exterior color scheme, while the embroidered CZ26 logo adds an extra touch of distinction and personality to the interior.

 

The contrast between the matte surfaces of the technical fabric and the satin-finished carbon fiber is enhanced by the use of special glossy carbon fiber interwoven with metallic threads. This design is complemented by body-colored accents distributed across the door panels and the upper portion of the dashboard.

 

The aerodynamic development encompassed all parts of the car; at the front, the cooling system and airflow management were completely redesigned by repositioning the central radiator assembly and adding dedicated deflector channels, which improved cooling efficiency and increased the downforce generated over the front axle. The underbody and the vortex generation system were also completely redesigned to achieve optimal aerodynamic balance. The outer sections of the front bumper incorporate an “air curtain” system that directs the turbulent airflow generated by the front wheels, thereby helping to reduce drag. The rear end has undergone a comprehensive redesign, including the addition of a large rear wing and a dedicated diffuser; both are designed to increase downforce while maintaining a high level of aerodynamic efficiency. The rear hood has also been redesigned and equipped with dedicated vents to regulate engine compartment temperature, ensuring effective heat dissipation under all operating conditions.

 

SF90 Stradale

 

The SF90 Stradale marked a milestone in Ferrari’s history, as it was the first model produced in large-scale production by the Prancing Horse brand to feature a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain. The car’s name commemorates the 90th anniversary of the founding of the “Scuderia Ferrari” team and highlights the direct link between the expertise gained in the world of motorsports and the road cars produced by the “Maranello” factory. The car is powered by a twin-turbocharged V8 engine paired with three electric motors, generating a total maximum output of 1,000 horsepower, making it one of the most prominent examples of cutting-edge technology transferred from the racetrack to public roads. Thanks to a design based on an innovative architecture that combines superior performance, aerodynamic efficiency, and advanced dynamic control systems, the SF90 Stradale has set new standards in the high-performance supercar segment and introduced a new concept in Ferrari’s design language, achieving a perfect balance between technological innovations and proportions. The SF90 Stradale also paved the way for a family of models that now includes the SF90 Spider, the 849 Testarossa, and the 849 Testarossa Spider, as well as special editions such as the SF90 XX Stradale and the SF90 XX Spider, which take the car’s performance and exclusivity to new heights.

 

Special Projects Program

 

The Special Projects program aims to create one-of-a-kind Ferrari cars (known as “Unique Cars”), featuring an exclusive design tailored to the client’s specifications, allowing the client to own a car unlike any other. Each project begins with an idea proposed by the client and is developed in close collaboration with a team of designers from the Ferrari Design Center. Once the car’s dimensions and shape have been defined, detailed design drawings and a prototype are prepared before the manufacturing process for the new unique car begins. The entire process takes about two years on average, during which the client is closely involved in evaluating the design and verification stages. The result? A one-of-a-kind Ferrari bearing the Prancing Horse emblem, designed to the same standards of excellence that characterize all Maranello cars.
