New Omoda 4 Appears in Paris Alongside the Omoda 5 NEXT
Omoda & Jaecoo, the two brands of China’s Chery group, made their first appearance at the Paris Motor Show on 12 October 2026, headlined by the French debut of the Omoda 4 and the European debut of the Omoda 5 NEXT, according to company statements issued on 14 October.
The brand’s stand in Hall 4 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles carried the slogan “DRIVE THE NEW VIBE”, reflecting the company’s European expansion — it says it has now entered 22 European countries.
The details
The Omoda 4 is a compact crossover that becomes the new entry point to the range, below the Omoda 5, 7 and 9, and was first revealed at Auto China 2026 in Beijing. It uses the robot-inspired “CYBER MECHA” design language, with “Cyber Lightning” headlights, a full-width LED light bar and a sloping fastback roofline.
The Omoda 4 clearly targets young, tech-savvy buyers: according to the company, the cabin offers more than 20 built-in games with a dedicated controller that works when the car is safely parked, plus karaoke, multi-colour ambient lighting and a voice assistant based on an in-car large language model.

The Omoda 5 NEXT is an updated version with a “sportback coupe” design and lightning-shaped front and rear lights. The company says it offers a class-exclusive 15.6-inch 2K screen, an 8-speaker Sony sound system with subwoofer, and ventilated, heated and massaging seats.

What does it mean for Kuwait and the Gulf?
Omoda & Jaecoo says it has sold more than one million cars in three years, operates in 77 markets and has R&D centres in Spain, France, Germany and the UK. The brand is present in Kuwait through Omoda & Jaecoo Al Babtain, and in the UAE, where deliveries have passed 6,000 cars.
At the time of publication, the company and its Gulf dealers had not announced a date or price for the Omoda 4 or Omoda 5 NEXT in the region, while the Omoda 4 is expected in the UK in 2027. Both models carry the SHS-H full hybrid technology now spreading across the range — technology that matters to Gulf buyers looking for lower fuel consumption in daily city driving. A compact, tech-rich Omoda 4 could also widen young buyers’ choices in the small crossover segment if it reaches the region. BYD also revealed the Atto 8 at the same show, underlining the strong presence of Chinese brands in Paris this year.
