What Is the FIA Extreme H World Cup?
The FIA Extreme H World Cup is the world’s first fully hydrogen-powered motorsport, racing hydrogen-powered vehicles across rugged and testing environments to demonstrate the technology’s viability to the world.
More than a race event, Extreme H acts as a collaboration platform where technology leaders, energy pioneers and mobility innovators come together to accelerate the real-world adoption of hydrogen solutions. It is also the world’s only gender-equal motorsport discipline, with male and female drivers competing together for the same honours — an approach that enhances opportunities for female drivers and aims to inspire a new generation of racers and fans.
Qiddiya City: Built for Play
Located 45km from Downtown Riyadh, Qiddiya City is described as the world’s first city built entirely for play, combining entertainment attractions, sports complexes, cultural landmarks and residential neighbourhoods set against one of the region’s most iconic landscapes. A cornerstone of Saudi Vision 2030, it supports the Kingdom’s economic growth, creates jobs, raises quality of life and puts Saudi Arabia on the world tourism map.
About the FIA
Founded in 1904, with offices in Paris, London and Geneva, the FIA brings together 245 Member Organisations across five continents. It develops and enforces regulations for motor sport, including seven FIA World Championships, to ensure competitions worldwide are safe and fair.
Conclusion
While fans in the region will have to wait another year, the organisers’ commitment to staging the second edition in Saudi Arabia in 2027 keeps Qiddiya on the hydrogen racing calendar. Yabeela Motors will report the new date as soon as it is announced.
