Chery’s Luxeed Plans Six New-Energy Models Globally in 2026, with a Kuwait Launch Set for 2027
Luxeed, the premium new-energy brand of the Chery group, has revealed plans to go global with a line-up of six new-energy models: a luxury minivan, a large SUV and four crossovers, CarNewsChina reported on 26 October 2026.
The news matters directly for Kuwait. At the 2026 Chery International User Summit in Wuhu, Chery announced that Luxeed is accelerating its entry into Kuwait, with the brand launch and the start of vehicle sales provisionally planned for Q3 2027 (September).
The Details
Luxeed was launched in 2023 as a joint project between Chery and Huawei. Its current line-up in China includes the S7 sedan, the R7 crossover coupe, the V9 minivan and the RX SUV. The brand’s global launch took place on 21 October 2026 during the Chery International User Summit (18–24 October), under the theme “INTELLIGENCE, ENLIGHTENED”.
According to CarNewsChina, Luxeed’s first models for overseas markets will be:
- LLounge: the global name for the V9 luxury minivan.
- Stormax: the global name for the large five-seat RX SUV.
- Four crossovers, tentatively named 3, 5, 7 and 9, positioned as more luxurious than the Stormax and not currently sold in China.
The six models will span three product lines and three powertrain types, likely battery-electric (BEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and extended-range electric (EREV), with more details due next year. Australia is among the first confirmed markets for these models.

What It Means for Kuwait and the Gulf
According to the Chery International User Summit 2026 release published on 15 October, Luxeed plans to introduce three models in Kuwait in 2027: a flagship luxury MPV, a sporty off-road SUV and a family-oriented crossover SUV. Major preparation milestones run from Q4 2026 to Q1 2027, ahead of the official brand launch and sales start in Q3 2027.
The move is part of the Chery group’s fast-growing presence in the region, following milestones such as OMODA & JAECOO passing 1.4 million global sales, the reveal of the new Omoda X and Chery’s 1.44 MW Volt-dragon charger. A premium electric brand such as Luxeed would give Kuwaiti buyers a new choice in the large family SUV and luxury MPV segments, both of which are in clear demand in the Gulf market.
The local distributor in Kuwait, prices and GCC-specific specifications have not been announced yet and are expected closer to launch.
